Damaris is your pretty standard all-american girl. She came to NYU a year ago from the west coast, she's a sophomore in the courant institute, she's obsessed with folk metal, still feels kind of lost in the city, and comes from a long line of magic users.

For generation upon generation, Damaris' family has worshiped the old gods, focusing on the greco-roman pantheon, and have taught their children the art of magic. A few sorcerers sprout up every few decades, but for the most part everyone in her family learns how to cast magic, rather than knowing innately. Damaris is from the main branch of the family, based in San Francisco, and she's the third daughter and fifth child, ten places away from being the next in line to the head of the family.

Given her relative distance from an important place within the hierarchy, Damaris was given her choice of where to attend college (traditionally the heir always goes to Stanford), and she chose NYU both for the miles between her and her family, and the strong Waker community. Fae, vampires and demons scare her, but she's had interaction with weres in California, and she's looking to find other magi or sorcerers and form a coven or at least make friends, during her time here.

Personality wise, she's a bit quiet, although not very shy. She has no problem speaking her mind, or asserting herself, she just prefers to hang back and observe most of the time. She has a dry sense of humor and is the kind of person to think a situation through, rather than fly off the handle impulsively or act rashly.
