Having the skills and ability of someone from a book can have its downsides. One of those being the inability to truly gauge their ability and another being that even with their skill, you yourself might not be up to par with their physical shape. Varnock was lucky that his job with the agency kept him in good condition or he would already be nearly dead. It was all he could do to keep the blade of his opponent from striking him with all the vertigo forced onto him in fact. Luckily the constant movement of the blades kept him charging electricity to release whenever the blades met in an attempt to short out the muscles in his enemies arm.
He knew the water had missed when he enemy wasn't covered in ice, but there was still ice frozen onto the ground in a sharp manner behind the man in front of him. Maybe this could be used to his advantage. More glass bottles of water shot from books towards the shifting shape that was his enemy in an attempt to hit him or surround him in ice and water. Once there came to be enough of that he could simply blast the room with electricity.
He worries about his ability to keep this up. His books are mostly autonomous with only a pieces of his focus needed to manage them, but with trying to keep the vertigo from effecting him overly things were getting difficult. He let a bit of his focus go back towards the books as they further flowed around the minor duel between the two men. That was when weapons began to shoot between the books and their various storage areas. Blades simply flew through the air towards their destination of another book in an attempt to throw off his enemy. Worst case scenario involved him simply running into a book to escape and working things out with his mind while safe from the vertigo.
