[cs=2] Drew could tell you she lived a perfectly boring life up until she started to "see things". Born to two parents who wanted nothing more than to have children, their daughter was a blessing to them. She was spoiled terribly; by her mother especially who didn't want her child to grow up without want. Because of this, Drew grew up to be lazy and never doing anything for herself. Because she had everything handed to her, she never needed anything. She never did anything for herself because with a snap of her hands she could have anything. It put a strain on her parents' marriage - and their pockets - who, after awhile and a serious talking to, started to slowly push Drew to adulthood. She resisted this with great acknowledgement, often acting out. She didn't like change, feared it. She had nobody to turn to in an hour of need. All her friends, sick of her lifestyle and jealous of how her folks just handed everything to her, left her to her own devices. Eventually Drew took to the idea of doing things for herself. She gained freedom, but her phobias didn't just go away. She was able to apply to the local college in hopes of becoming a psychologist. She took a few courses at home at first, slowly working up the courage to actually set foot on the campus. She found it to be loud and obnoxious, but she fit well into a solitude lifestyle like she always had. Drew Winchester was always a sucker for books. They made for better friends. They didn't judge you, didn't expect anything of you. She was particularly partial to the supernatural and reading about them, and to her glee she found more volumes at the college's library. She could often be found among the dusty tomes, reading on her breaks to study more. She thought it was just legends and myths, even if she wanted it to be true. She didn't know how much she could take that wish back. At the age of twenty, Drew graduated from basic psychology at her college. By then she wasn't half-assing it. A college degree wouldn't get her anywhere in her field. She would have to go to university. She truly had something in her life that gave her motivation. She heard the programs in New York were more challenging, so she applied and got in. With a less than sorrowful goodbye, Drew set off on her own for the first time in her life. A girl has to let go eventually. | |
