[cs=2] Crowe has existed longer than most of the Unseelie Court can recall-- with the exception of the king and queen, of course. He has witnessed much of the modern and ancient world's history, and as a result has a sort of personal wisdom that is rare to find, simply because of the sheer amount of time needed to amass it. While he is an eloquent speaker, Crowe also has a tendency to be brutally honest (after all, fae princes don't typically have to watch their words around anyone), and when mixed together it makes for a brutal combination. As a representative of the chaotic Unseelie, he does know his manners and the like, but such things are rarely put to use by him. Crowe is a cunning and ruthless sort, and like most fae, even the slightest insult is always avenged tenfold. He is capable of being incredibly Machiavellian, though it is widely known that his emotions do have much sway over him. Crowe is just incredibly good at suppressing them. In his younger years, when humanity was just beginning to assemble their great cities, he was foolish and green. Crowe became attached to a sweet little human whelp, a girl-child called Mairwen. She had been orphaned in a particularly aggressive cattle raid, her future bleak-- until Crowe, in his weakness, had decided to save her, venturing into the human world for a long period of time to try and raise her. The King of the Unseelie saw this, and wishing to remove what he saw as an pointless attachment of his son's, he called for the girl's death, his own servants murdering the girl brutally after feeding from her dreams and emotions. Traumatized and thoroughly taught his lesson, Crowe never formed an attachment to another human again, hurt to badly by the death of Mairwen. He soon developed his cynical view of humans as a result, adopting the principles of his fellow fae-- that humans were mindless prey, not on the level of the beautiful and stronger fae. However, the wound still remains, and it is a dangerous subject to bring up in conversation. It has been noted that Crowe is adverse to children, though he refuses to harm them by feeding on them. | |
