Europe, the heart of western civilization, is not actually the heart of magical civilization, although it's considered the birthplace of vampires and at least claims to be the birthplace of werewolves too. Waker society there is old and aristocratic, with ancient magical lineages flaunted like pedigrees. Transylvania - Some of the greatest, wealthiest, and most revered vampire bloodlines originate from Transylvania. Most of the vampires themselves have since traveled all about the world, but a few old sires--dangerous and powerful--still remain, and young fledglings still visit on pilgrimages of sorts. Avalon - A very real island off the British Islands, Avalon is shrouded in a million and one cloaking spells. Here, everyone's a waker and magic is practiced out in the open. It is home to the world-renowned Avalon University, which teaches aspiring magi for a hefty tuition and sends its professors all over the world on magical sabbaticals. The Solomons - Once a sect of the Catholic church, they have all been excommunicated centuries ago but persist to this day. The Solomons are magi and specifically demonologists. They are known for summoning, binding, and controlling ghosts and demons. Despite being excommunicated, they are still zealots that act in the interest of the church.
