[atrb=width,500,btable][cs=2] COLIN DAVIS a spirit lost in denial | RANK. rank E AGE. 18/19 when he died DOB. aug. 07 (same as death date) ETHNICITY. irish american OCCUPATION. demoness slave RESIDENCE. brooklyn in life; in death, with his master
| [atrb=width,100] | [cs=2] In life, Colin was born into a family of mediums. He had a particularly strong connection with ghosts and demons, and tried to help them have their dying wish satisfied whenever he wasn't working or stealing to get money to help feed his family. However, despite knowing extensively about ghosts, he's completely oblivious to the fact that he himself is one; he doesn't even know he's dead.
What he believes happened, is a few days ago, a demon somehow trapped him in a rosary and forced him into slavery. The rest of his family is still at home, free and as happy as can be. As long as they're fine and his mistress doesn't get too abusive, Colin's content... well, almost content. You see, it's his birthday today, and more than anything he'd like his family and that cute ghost girl who lives with them to come visit him. He knows they're busy people, but they'll come eventually. They're a pretty tightly knit bunch, so they must miss him as much as he misses them. He's sure of it.
In reality, Colin has been in slavery for almost a century. He and his family all died a particularly brutal death when his home burned to the ground on his birthday all those years ago. There was, in fact, a female ghost who used to live with them, but when they all died she became a demon and kept the last echo of that family to herself: Colin's spirit. Although his memory is stuck on that day, day after day, she, his mistress, has managed to manipulate his mind bit by bit to modernize it and keep it in-sync with his present situation.
As far as ghosts go, Colin isn't the smartest. He doesn't really understand what's going on with his life or the truth behind his servitude. However, he isn't just a flat, withdrawn personality. He likes to tease and he likes to prank, goodheartedly of course, and as long as his mistress is fine with it all's well. Overall he's a warm person, though doesn't have many, if any lasting friends since he won't remember them the next day.
| [cs=2]- PYROKINESIS. Colin doesn't consciously realize this, but he can energize molecules to make things burn. This power usually manifests when something scares or threatens him and, consequently, triggers his memories of the fire, causing his emotions to spiral out of control. Technically, this power can only create and extinguish fires, not control them. That's what telekinesis is for (see below). Although he can only create enough fire to set about half of a person alight, when his emotions go wild and his telekinesis gets out of control, it spreads quickly.
- TELEKINESIS: POWER III. This power is also used subconsciously, and is one of the primary reasons he can think he's still human. Colin can (basically, not technically) make his form corporeal; his figure is simply energy, rather than a combination of solids and liquids like a real human body. He's warmer than the average human, and if he's touched, he doesn't feel quite natural. However, if he thinks he should be able to pick something up, touch something, pull something, or wear something, then he can. Sometimes he overestimates what a human body should be capable of and pulls off some spectacular feats of strength, though this is rare. Of course, he's capable of moving and influencing things without his illusionary body "touching" it, but he doesn't know that. This power only tends to get out of control when he's in a painful emotional state (usually enraged, mourning, or betrayed). Windows break, walls begin to tear apart, decorative glassware is shattered, people are shoved to the ceiling... you know, the typical ghost freak-show.
- ILLUSIONS. How did you think it was possible for him to appear human? At this level, Colin can only influence what his own body looks like to others. Oddly enough, he can make grander illusions, but they're only perceivable by himself. Useless, yes, but remember, he doesn't even realize he's using these powers; they're a method for his subconscious to remind his conscious mind about his past and his last wish. An additional note: when he remembers the fire, the skin on the left half of his body becomes scarred, disfigured, and often appears to bleed.
- POSSESSION. At this level, Colin can only possess inanimate objects. If he were to ever realize he had powers, he would still be able to use them while possessing an object. At the moment, he honestly believes that his mistress is responsible for keeping him in and summoning him from these objects (sort of like a pokeball).
- LIEGE II. So he's a slave to a demon named Robyn. All things considered, his mistress hasn't been too bad to him, so he's adjusted pretty well. (Altering his memories didn't hurt either). Most of the time he'll willingly follow her orders, but if he becomes emotionally unstable (when he's reminded of the fire or the death of his family), he goes a little insane. It's not like he doesn't want to follow her orders... it's just that nothing seems to make sense anymore and he can't remember if she really is his mistress.
( power I, II, III )
- ARTIFACT I. Although not magical in the slightest, the rosary he usually wears around his neck is the object his spirit is tied to. He can't move too far away from it, which is why, when he himself isn't wearing it, his mistress keeps it safe. If he thinks he's hurt or he becomes utterly shocked/distressed by something, his spirit retreats to the rosary. When his spirit's possessing this object, it becomes warm to the touch; when he's possessing it and he's angry, it becomes scalding.
