[cs=2] Past: Almost everyone knows of the Epic of Gilgamesh right? Well that really happened (mostly) and it was definitely interesting while it lasted, but lets not get into really ancient history. Of course Gilgamesh hadn't expected to wake up after his death in a new body with all his memories intact. In fact it took him three goes to get used to it, and around seven to get used to not having the full scope of his abilities anymore. Since his time as the King of Kings, or the first king for those who prefer that title, he has lived through many an age and influenced them all. He has lost much of his haughty nature, but it is definitely still there when he gets angry, from his lives spent in a more 'common' lifestyle and he has accepted that. He didn't accept it calmly at first, but at least he got there eventually. He has contented himself to training throughout his various lives with many different types of weaponry and martial arts. He learned archery and riding from the Mongols, Swordsmanship from the knights of the round and Samurai in Japan, He even slew a dragon once, but he doesn't know where in Europe he actually was at the time. All that and more over his lives with all of it directed towards the accessing of his complete treasury. Ever since his original lifetime he has been attempting to reach his original level of power to fully access his treasury and the many objects within it. He has gotten close, but never has he been able to increase his power high enough to access it all. One of his more notable lives was that of a senator in Rome. It was boring at first, but when Caesar came into the scene things got interesting. He helped plan the assassination in an attempt to reach a higher position among his fellow senators. Gilgamesh was the one to supply the magical knife that killed Caesar and still has it to this day. One of his favorite lives was that of a monk in China. He doesn't know exactly what the date was even know and he couldn't mark out where he had lived even if given a map, but he does know one thing. The things he learned there will stick with him for every lifetime to come. The combat they teach the supposedly peaceful monks is astounding really. He learned most everything he could during his years there and continued to learn as he taught the generation to come after him. Then of course there was his least favorite life. He ended up a peasant girl in France during the time of Napoleon. He really doesn't like to talk about it much and never goes any further than saying that it was a dark time for most people back then. He had little to no access to his treasury as well. Present: This time around he lives in New York. He finally decided that if he was going to keep on living and gaining knowledge he might as well pass on some of it to another generation to prevent them all from being completely useless. Since that decision he has taught at Columbia University. He switches between subjects rather often, but commonly sticks to history in the end. He resides over a sort of martial arts club that is really just him training people in whatever weapon or style they want to learn from him. He makes a solid living off of teaching and the occasional tutoring for a bit of extra cash. His personality has also changed over time to reach the current point. He has given up his belief that all are below him long ago, but he does believe he can beat anyone in a fight if given enough time. He has taken on the guise of a teacher and has gained quite a bit of patience from it, but he is starting to hate those in their late teens to early twenties. He has a tendency to get very angry when losing, and hates people trying to challenge him even with his new found patience. He finds having to prove his strength beneath him. | |
