| [atrb=width,100] | [cs=2] On the island of Cyprus, a goddess was born; she was beautiful, as fair as marble, and had hair as golden as any king's royal splendour. Out of the soft foam of the sea came the most beautiful woman in all the heavens and earth, she who would become known as Aphrodite. She was worshipped as the goddess of love, and rightfully so; her powers over human emotions had started wars, had ended them; brought the most powerful of humans to their knees, made lives and broke them.
Back when she was still actively worshiped, one would describe the goddess of love to be ruthless and even, at times, cruel, to those who invoked her anger---Aphrodite would gleefully ruin the lives of anyone who crossed her, and her anger became so well known that even Zeus himself was said to be reluctant to challenge her. The times have not changed this about her, but they have added a rather cool calmness to her everyday doings of things, especially since she fell from Olympus. After that, she and her contemporaries passed into myth, said by most to be nothing more than uneducated Greeks way of explaining the world around them. But, she (like quite a few of her Greco-Roman brethren) waits for the day when the chance will come to be worshiped once more.
However, it would be a mistake to say that the goddess of love hasn't adjusted to human life----mostly because she still has her powers to go with it. Through a multitude of lives and names she has lived on Earth, in each of them she found herself surrounded by the closest thing to worshipers one could get in the human world; lovers. But do not think the goddess loose or easy; oh, no, they still work for every bit they get; the realm of love is simply her domain and she will not be restrained in it, not even in a human form. A strong woman who does as she will, Aphrodite may come off as cold or even aloof, even to those she loves, but this is not the case; in fact, her emotions not only fuel everything she does, she seems to feel much more than the average person. Living a (semi) human lifestyle has, though, taught her more in the realms of masking her emotions when it is needed, since it was rare she had to do so when in power. At the current time, the goddess lives under the name Amada Archibald, and has made a name for herself in the ever trending fashion design industry of New York.
| [cs=2]- GREATER LOVE MANIPULATION. Being the goddess of love, she possesses the ability to create feelings of love in the heart of any mortal or supernatural creature who can feel it. (Her ability does not work on other deities) Though there are those who claim to be unaffected by love, she can still instill the feelings inside them; it is up to the person whether they pursue it or not. With this ability, she is also able to create feelings of lust, resentment, or even hate, as a by-product of the love she is so known for.
- APPEARANCE MANIPULATION. She is able to completely change her appearance, even her facial features. The ability allows her to change her hair colour, body type, and eye colour; this is but an illusion, though, and she cannot keep it up for more than a day. Therefore (and she's usually quite fine with how she looks, plus the need to disguise oneself doesn't come around as often is used to), she tends not to use this power as much.
- GODDESS FORM. In this form (though she may choose to keep her human size), she becomes much taller than any human and even more beautiful if such a thing were possible. Her powers become increased exponentially, and her general appearance changes. Long blonde hair cascades down her shoulders (it has changed colours in each life's human form; such as being a dirtier blonde in this one), stopping at the middle of her back, bangs parted at the middle, her ears more "elvish", as humans would say. She wears a crown that takes up most of her forehead and wraps around, the back covered by her hair, two pieces of her hair resting on her chest. At the center of the crown is a shining diamond that seems, in the light, to change colour every time one looks at it. On her body are not the robes of old, but a rather modern looking dress, however, it has touches of antiquity. The skirt, as white as one of Heaven's clouds, flows down to her bare feet, small train dragging past, and the top is a dark purple colour. Gleaming golden shoulder pauldrons serve as armour; a small chest piece, ornately designed like the pauldrons, connects the two together.
- FOLLOWERS I. Though they remain slightly out of the mainstream, there are indeed still cults that worship Aphrodite; a fairly active one has its home here in New York, in the form of a small church which encompasses all religions and their deities (with the exception of a few of the more controversial ones). Aphrodite has appeared to the cult specifically dedicated to her many times, despite it being quite small (only five members), which does give a bit of an emotional blow to the goddess. However, she is proud to have them, and they are proud to worship their goddess.
- ARTIFACT I. In the old days, Aphrodite possessed only one physical weapon; Reproba Lumen (or, in the English tounge, False Light). It is a bow and arrows set, but unique to her in the arrows (of which there are three) and the bow itself. The bow is golden and ornately carved, as large as Aphrodite, literally going from her head to her feet. The arrows are also golden (in colour), and give off an enormously bright light when shot. The light serves as a blinder to the enemy she would use this against, not some divine symbol. (Hence the name). Reproba Lumen is an actual weapon, and not Cupid's famed bow, nor is it connected to it other than the fact that it is Aphrodite's. However, it remains sealed away, and Aphrodite herself cannot get to it at the moment.
