Navitas is a strange sort of demon. While most would relish in the torment of mere mortals or wish to further their own gain, Navitas just wants to help. He guides the poor and homeless of New York, giving them food and work. It's a fine job too, all they have to do to obtain his graces is steal jewelry and other valuables and give them to him. Indeed, Navitas runs a small network of thieves known as the Hobo Thieves Guild. These sneaky hooligans steal from the rich and give to the weird guy who gives them orders in exchange for mass amounts of food, drink, drugs, and the promise of future wealth...but here's a secret: Navitas is keeping all the riches for himself.

He's a jolly demon for sure, always keeping a positive attitude in even the darkest of times. He acts rather kind despite his deceptive nature, and although he would surely rather kill anyone who intrudes on his business he would gladly first offer them dinner. He is a gentleman, always being sure to show manners and remembering to be polite...though keep in mind that such a generous attitude comes with the intent of stealing from you. Of course running a business such as his comes with a certain air of ruthlessness. He does not stand for competition or repeated interference, and when faced with such things he shall be quick to act against them. However, it is rather difficult to ignite a temper within ol' Navitas. In fact the only way to really make him angry is to steal the jewelry box on his desk...and here's why:

Back in the days of Greece's rule over the free world, Navitas was a master thief seeking his fortune. One fateful day, Navitas stole from the wrong person, an elder demon who pretty much obliterated Navitas' mortal body to bits. In his new ghostly form, Navitas was subjected to a large amount of screaming from the elder demon, who told him that for the rest of his immortal undead life he would have to pay the demon riches, otherwise he would send his ass to limbo forever. Not wanting to be subjected to limbo, Navitas spent his time as a ghost trying to get gold and other treasures to pay back his new employer. He was not successful...because ghosts can't pick things up...or do anything really. Hundreds of years went by, and Navitas became more powerful with each one that passed. However even with his more powerful ghost form, he still had little success in gaining treasure that satisfied his master.

Around the time that the Napoleonic Wars started, Navitas' frustration with his current "death"style(see what I did there? SEE IT!?) and loathing for his master soon manifested into a physical form (About time, look at that time leap). At long last he was a demon, just like his master...though technically speaking he had no knowledge of this kind of phenomena so he kind of freaked out for a few months. Now in a more reliable form, Navitas' master granted him some true power but also became much more harsh on his payments. Navitas traveled all over Europe with great haste bringing out strange schemes in order to gain wealth. His income was minimal, so Navitas decided to go to a supposed Land of Opportunity known as America. In the fine U.S.A., Navitas established many gangs of bandits and thieves, paying his master every cent he gained. With a lack of income on their part, Navitas' lackeys often turned on him which meant he had to kill them and find another band of hooligans to do his dirty work. We now come to present day, where Navitas and his new guild of homeless thieves run rampant in New York city...the patience of Navitas' evil master very quickly running out.
