The way it made everything hot and the day uncomfortable. Luckily, today was nice and cool with a wonderful breeze blowing through the park Balthazar was currently in, bringing with it the sounds and scents of New York. Sammy had been upset and complaining about how Balthie never got out during the day and always missed stuff. Including the bank robbery that happened two days ago up in The Bronx (the robber was caught all because he had ran into a public bathroom to take a piss because, apparently, it couldn't wait). Balthie didn't like it when his favorite was upset, so he complied to go out tomorrow.

He didn't.

Which pissed Sammy off so much that he threatened Balthazar with no sex for 2 weeks from any of his herd and of course, Balthie caved and promised that he'd take Sven to the park tomorrow. Sven, who absolutely loves going out, was excited as fuck about that and was hyper for the rest of the night.

That morning Sven and Sammy (who had spent the night to help Sven) went through the usual routine: wake up Balthie, wait for him in the living room while playing video games, go in after Balthie and actually wake him up, pester him to get into the shower, make sure he got into the shower, actually cleaned himself and didn't take too long, escort Balthie the 12 ft. to his room to prevent him from sitting down on a couch and playing video games with Aby and Si-Si that had come over, pick out Balthie's outfit and watch him to make sure that he doesn't just go back to sleep in the towel and gather the items needed to make Sven seem like a dog: sleeves to hide Sven's wings and a quick illusion from Sammy to disguise his dark scales as black fur. Finally, Balthie's grabbed his black backpack and Sven's toys (tennis ball and Frisbee) and was ready about 2 hours later.

Balthie never put a collar or leash on Sven because, he really didn't need to and plus, Sammy's illusion also provided a white collar with all the needed tags.

It's been about 3 hours since they arrived at the park and so far, nothing interesting has happened; although a dog fight between a German Shepard and Doberman that left both dogs with a limp happened about an hour ago, Balthie took this as a chance to get more sleep. Sitting on the ground with his back against the trunk of a tree that shielded him from the sun, Balthie got comfortable and shut his eyes, relaxing.

Sven, as always was running around, terrorizing the smaller dogs he could find, intimidating and dominating the bigger ones and actually made a friend with a wolf-like puppy. Who actually seemed like he didn't have an owner (he'd been playing with Sven for about 2 hours now and no one had called him).

Balthazar loved listening to the wind, hearing whispers of conversations, children laughing and once or twice a week at the least, a police siren from another part of New York.

Today, he heard the yelling of people and the screeching of car tires as the drivers break quickly to avoid something. Opening his eyes, he looked in the direction the commotion was coming from and strained his ears to hear more. All he could hear was the slapping of bare feet on pavement and the tar of a road as they ran towards him and more specifically, the park.

Wait, what is that?

It's a girl. She was running straight for him. Balthazar, or course, didn't really care and sat there obviously watching the girl as she got closer quite quickly.

It was a girl that looked to be about his age or a little younger. She was dressed in a white t-shirt and obviously hadn't heard of a bra on account of her breasts bouncing everywhere. He had a feeling that she'd give herself a black eye sooner or later. She also had on jean shorts and (as he had suspected) was barefoot. She neared him and apparently didn't see him or didn't care because she took a seat on the opposite side of the tree. He could smell the were rolling off her in waves. It was a fox that she was which made him curious (there weren't many forest weres that came to New York).

It looked like she had something in her hands, it looked like shoes but, he wasn't entirely sure. He heard her say something, but it sounded more like a random sound than actual words. He twisted his upper body to peer around the tree and saw her slip on the shoes (confirmed his thought) and stand up, looking as if she was trying to avoid a mouse that was running around her feet.

She was quite the hilarious sight, which made Balthazar chuckle. A deep, rich sound that had most who heard with a shiver or two running up their spine.

He wanted to know what the hell she was trying to do cause it was actually very funny.

"What exactly are you trying to do, Rotfuchs?"
