Michael wrapped his hands firmly around his bottle of Bush Light, being careful as to not put too much pressure on it he didn't want to break the damn thing. A sigh escaping from his lips as he leaned back against his chair, a cool breeze from the night winds brushing against his face as he did so. He didn't normal visit places like this; bars like The Stumble Inn drove him crazy. Why? Because he picked up on every little sound much more careful than everyone else that came here to have a good time, it was one of the perks he gained after being bitten. He was here today however because his partner Robert Frank had forced him into coming, and while he didn't want the man had been trying to get him to go out for awhile so he figured he'd cut him a break.
Michael brought his beer bottle to his lips feeling the better tasting liquid from the bottle flow down into his throat, he brought his attention towards the entrance of the much more active part of the bar he could see his partner from the table trying to hit on some random blonde. So much for a guys night huh? He didn't mind too much at least one of them got to have a little fun; Michael normally didn't bother with women. He wasn't gay or anything, it was just something he didn't feel like spending much time on. He had already had his true love, and that didn't turn out very well for him at all. Another drink from the beer bottle came as the thoughts of what he had done to Sarah entered into his mind, he could still remember it like it had happened yesterday.
Michael was pulled away from his thoughts when his partner came walking up to the table, the aforementioned blonde underneath his arm. "I take it you're leaving?" he asked the brown haired man before him.
"Heehee yeah hope you don't mind, guys got to have a little fun right?"
"Don't forget protection." Michael teased causing his partner to wave a hand at him, before picking up his coat and heading out the bar. Michael brought his beer to his lips again he probably should have left shortly after his partner departed with his date for the evening, but something was complaining him not to leave. So instead he stood up from the table outside and head towards the inside of the bar, the music getting much louder in his ears as he did so. He closed his eyes for short second letting himself get adjusted to the much louder sounds, before taking a seat in front the counter. "I'll have another beer." he muttered, and then he waited...waited for something to interesting to happen.

walk among us never judge us
When he'd stepped out that afternoon Nathaniel's father had been pale and drawn, napping in the master bedroom while Nathaniel's mother fluttered about the living room and hallway, snapping irritably at the maid as she dusted.
I don't know what's wrong with him, she'd told him in low tones, her hands knotted at her waist. He's been tired for the past week or so. I should make him see his physician soon if he doesn't brighten up.
He had kissed her goodbye on the cheek with her husband's blood still in the back of his throat and resolved to do his hunting somewhere else tonight.
Which is how he's found himself at this extraordinarily common bar tonight, sipping a very mediocre whiskey sour and tracking the man who just moved from the outside to the inside by himself. He's navigating through the bar to sit down next to him when there's an outcry at the entrance and the crush of bodies presses backwards as one, trapping him against the counter a few feet from the orange haired man he was trying to get to.
Some of his whiskey sour slops over the glass onto the floor. It's so bad that he can't even get angry at the waste. From the entrance, there's the muffled sound of someone ranting about the end times and demonic possession. He cranes his head to the side and catches a glimpse of a middle aged man with salt and pepper hair staggering around, one hand clamped to the side of his neck. Dark red blood oozes through the man's fingers.
How careless of someone, to leave that meal running around.
Michael attention was pulled away from his drink when the crowd of people began to back away, and the music began to die down. The sounds of ranting and raving about demons and the end of days filling his ear, he let out a small groan before turning his attention towards the source. Only to have impulse kick it when he noticed the man was staggering about with his hand placed firmly on the side of his neck, Michael could make out the sight of blood oozing through his fingers. He had been bitten, and Michael was pretty sure he knew what had done the biting. He took one last drink from his beer bottle before placing it on the counter and heading towards the man, "NYPD everybody take another step back." he called out. All the eyes in the room suddenly turned towards him as he approached the staggering male.
Before Michael could even get another word to the man to ask him what had happened he lunged forward his hands gripping onto the collar of Michael's light blue button up shirt, which was now stained with blood. "They're here! The demons! They...They bit me!" he shouted in Michael's face spit flying onto his face. Annoyance appeared on his face as the familiar feeling of rage built up inside of him, he couldn't allow the wolf to take over right now. The last thing that he needed was to cause a bigger scene, so instead of forcefully grabbing hold of the man in return and pushing him against the wall. Michael instead took this time to examine the wound on the man's neck, and he could make out the shape of bite marks on it. He had been right, a vampire had gotten sloppy lets it food escape.
Luckily though it wasn't Michael's job to clean up there messes they had people of there own for that after all. He pushed the man away from him lightly and cleared his throat "Sir you need to get to the hospital, if you leave that bite untreated for too long it'll get infected. Let's not forget that you might bleed out."
The man stumbled backwards a bit his hand returning to his neck trying to stop the blood from oozing out more, ["You! Your one of them aren't you? One of those things!" was all the man said before rushing back out of the bar and going god knows where.
A sigh escaped from Michael's lips as he returned his attention to the people in the bar, "Someone call 911 and tell them we've got a man running around on the street with a pretty bad bite mark, I get the feeling he might have been attacked." was all he said before returning to his spot at the counter. Normally he'd have chased after the man, but he was off duty and a little buzzed.

It's a stretch to say he's intrigued that the man he'd pegged solely as an easy mark for the night, drinking solo and getting buzzed, with no one to notice if he was pulled aside for fifteen minutes or so, was the one to step in and handle the errant prey situation, but he is curious.
As the man settles back in his seat and the crowd buzzes with activity, a few people reaching for their cellphones, Nathaniel resumes his original trajectory and settles into the empty bar stool next to the man, placing his half-empty glass on the marbled counter.
You should consider the hospital yourself, sir, he says, motioning toward the blood on the man's shirt. If he was on something, or infected, and you got so close to him, no telling what might have been passed on. But that was brave of you, handling him like that. Not many people step forward these days when they see something.
"Hmm?" Michael's attention was drawn away from his solitary drinking yet again, this time however it wasn't because of some raving lunatic who just got bit by a Vampire. It was a stranger commenting how he himself probably should head to the hospital because of the blood on his shirt, and that he might get something because of it. Michael only chuckled lightly and took a sip of his beer before turning his head to face the stranger, "Not likely trust me." worrying about something like a human sickness was no longer anything Michael needed to care about, amazing what a Werewolf bite can do huh?
The man then went on to explain how what Michael had done was brave. Had it really been brave though? It was just instinct for Michael to react to such situation, the man needed help so Michael did his best to provide it. "Honestly I was just doing my job, can't let crazy people with bite marks on their necks run around the city now can I?" another sip of his beer was taken as he began to think about that some more. What kind Vampire let themselves get sloppy like that? Then again maybe letting him go had been the point, to watch him run about the streets in terror after having been introduced to a brand new kind of world. A shake of his head was given; it wasn't his job right now to go hunting down Vampires. Besides...it wouldn't end well for him he was lone Omega and hadn't been at the whole Werewolf thing for very long it was better to just let things be.
Michael placed his beer bottle down and held his hand out for the newcomer to shake, "Thanks for the advice though and the complement names Michael."

He shrugs.
Still, he says, A lot of people would have just hoped someone else would do their job for them. Your next beer is on me.
He shakes his hand. Nathaniel. Pleased to meet you. I assume you work with drug addicts like that man quite often, to have handled him so professionally. Are you a social worker?
