Tristin Apep King of Thieves | RANK. Rank E AGE. Looks 19-22 DOB. October 12 ETHNICITY. German & Polish OCCUPATION. Tattooist and owner of "The Shadow's Workshop" RESIDENCE. ENDLESS mausoleum
| Born Stefan Bäcker in 1076 to a German father and mother, he had a simple life. Stefan lived in a little village called, 'Stelle Gottes' with about 20-30 people living there and he was an apprentice baker, learning from his father and preparing to take over the family bakery. Everything was peaceful and happy. At the age of 15, his mother gave birth to his baby sister, which he picked out the name. "Lilli." was the first word Stefan said to his baby sister as his mother handed her to him. Stefan loved Lilli dearly and became her guardian as she grew up-patching every scrape, cleaning every cut and singing her to sleep every night. For four years everything was good. Lilli was a smiling bundle of energy and cuteness. His father's bakery was doing good and Stefan was well on his way to taking over the shop when he married; though there were no obvious choices or ones that stood out.
Then, everything changed when the Crusaders attacked. (Nice Avatar reference huh?)
It was just a year after the Crusades had started and the village was calm, convinced that they wouldn't come to Stelle Gottes. It was just another day for Stefan, who was playing with Lilli. His father had just asked him to deliver some baked goods to an elder that lived on the outskirts of the village. On his way to the elder's house, Stefan spotted a group of horseman heading towards the village, but thought nothing of it and continued on his way. On his way back, the horseman had caught up to him and asked him what village he was from. He told them, "Stelle Gottes," and they stared at him a minute. The staring is what made Stefan start to worry. He asked them who they were and they claimed to be Crusaders who were hunting the Devil's Minions.
The leader it seemed like ordered one of the knights to grab Stefan and bring him back to the village so that they may grab any other Satan spawns. Stefan fought of course but was captured eventually and thrown on the back of a horse.
The villagers of course saw the struggle and were frightened. When the 'Crusaders' arrived in town with Stefan on the back, they cowered back in fear. The knights called Stefan a spawn of the Devil because of his white hair and 'made an example of him.' They stabbed him repeatedly in front of his family and little sister. His sister ran to him after they were done and held his head in her lap and cried, her tears flowing down her cheeks. He chuckled, coughed up blood and smiled weakly at her.
"I'll be fine. Just take care of the family, ok? Let your love grow Lilli. I love you," and closed his eyes and drifted from his body.
All he can remember from his time as a spirit is hatred and anger. Hatred for those who do things in the name of the so-called, 'merciful God' that they served and anger at himself for not being able to do anything. He channeled that fury into the core of his being, creating a fire inside. That is what helped him.
His first memory of being a demon is waking up in the ENDLESS mausoleum that he lives in now, back when it was just a room. He was naked and laying on the floor with burnt marks where his hands and mouth were. He, of course ventured out and killed, feasted and stole the guy's clothes (the suit that he wears now) and money.
Upon his return, he saw Sven laying on top of the coffin in the center and found out that Sven was his familiar. He then established his identity (Sven helped with the last name) and everything legal that he needed with the help of a random Magi that he found with Sven's help (only talked to him long enough to get what he needed and ditched him afterwards). It took him a while of working odd jobs to save up enough money to build 'The Shadow's Workshop' and get his furniture but, he did it in 1 year and a half. He dug out, designed and constructed the rooms below the main room and the secret entrance himself with the help of stolen tools.
In that time he met his members of his herd gradually; although, Si-Si was the most recent addition who met Tristin about a year ago when he put out an ad for an intern. We don't need a novel, but we do need the gist. | - HEIGHTENED SENSES. Hearing and smell are the most effected by this power, everything else is just slightly more fine-tuned. He can hear a pin drop from across the room but, sudden loud noises will leave a ringing in his ears that lasts for several minutes and disorients him. Tristin has the nose of a bloodhound (that's basically what he is) and can smell a single drop of blood that's dried, been attempted to bleach out and sprayed with perfume as fresh as if it was just recently spilled. Although, a really nasty smell will have his eyes watering and him clutching his nose with both hands trying to block the smell and unconcerned with his surroundings. His sight is a bit more enhanced than normal, but still, a sudden bright flash of light leaves him practically blind for several minutes and weak to attacks.
- SILENCE. A skill he's had to practice quite a bit on over the hundreds of years he's been a demon. It's useful to him, because he's had to steal from sleeper's homes in order to survive long enough to keep living without it. His movements; running, walking, sneaking, etc. are virtually non-detectable by those who either don't pay attention or have regular human hearing. A were's hearing however, can detect him, especially if they're on high alert. He still uses it to do whatever he needs to; listening in on conversations, stealing a trinket or two, nicking a wallet or some car keys (mostly used when he doesn't want to walk)
- FIRE-CONTROL. Tristin learned this skill from Sven and is actually quite adept at it, being a demon and all. With the snap of his fingers, can create a flame out of nothing to dance on the tip of his pointer finger or into a fireball to launch at someone. If he isn't properly eating (which is about twice as much as a human needs) he won't have as much control over the fire as he would normally and the flame becomes extremely unstable and sensitive to his emotions. If he's angry or really pissed off, he's more likely to basically explode with fire--meaning that all of his energy will be expelled in one giant blast that effects a 15 ft. radius and drains him to the point of passing out right after--he'll wake up about 10-15 hours afterwards. Tristin can also channel the fire out of his mouth in a stream of red heat and can keep it going for about 10 minutes continuously; although if he tries to do it longer, his throat gets sore and it's very painful to talk or swallow anything. This takes about 10-12 hours to heal.
- FAMILIAR II. Ever since was reborn (fresh from the gleaming), he's had a little wyvern named Sven that's followed him around. Sven is about 2' 6" in length and feline shaped; black in color with three scratch marks across his nose and bright yellow eyes. Sven's wings are webbed from his wrists to his elbows and his left foot has a circle-shaped scar right in the middle from a stray cigarette that was tossed by an unknowing sleeper. Sven is as intelligent as a human; although he needs to eat more than a human to survive. Sven can also tell if a human's not a human (kind of comes in handy when he's not supposed to be real). Sven tends to be held either in the backpack that he wears when he's in street clothes and dangles out the top(which is almost all the time) or he holds Sven in one hand against his thigh as he lays limp with his legs and tail dangling.
- SANCTUM II. The ENDLESS Mausoleum in New York's graveyard is his home while he uses a P.O box as his mailing address. He likes the cold and underground, though the three rooms hidden beneath the entrance room to the mausoleum are spacious and warm so he doesn't bother with anything to heat it. He likes the rooms homey so he filled the first room with 2 couches, 3 chairs and a flat screen TV with stolen electricity from the lights here and there in the graveyard.
Added in the living room is, as always with boys, every gaming device ever made; from the Atari to the Xbox 360 Elite, accompanied with hundreds of games in total; although the living room's color scheme is pretty much any furniture he sees and likes.
There's a small kitchen nestled in the corner; although he doesn't really care for human food except any juice and chocolate--Tristin is very happy with the humans with their inventions of juice and chocolate. There is a mini-fridge that's always fully stocked with juice and chocolate, sitting in the corner on the farthest side of the couch away from the door.
There's a small bathroom that's connected to the living room with a door on the opposite wall from the couches and next to the TV. It's big enough for a small counter with a sink, a medicine cabinet on the wall besides the mirror that spans the wall, a toilet against the wall and a stand-up shower with a door to keep privacy.
The second room acts as his bedroom so, of course, it's very nice. With a king-size bed in the far right corner from the door and an end table with a clock and lamp set on top. A giant armoire sits next to the door with his bookshelf sitting beside it. His 'bedroom' is black and white in it's color scheme. The walls are gray with black borders and the blankets on his bed are black with white borders while the pillows are white with gray borders.
The third and final room is a guest room that has a queen-sized bed covered in many, many blankets and pillows of varying colors and sizes. All of which Tristin has collected, stolen and bought over the many years he's lived in New York. This room also has a side table with two drawers with a clock and a lamp on top. It also has a small dresser against the far wall from the door, accompanied by a matching vanity and stool angled in the corner.
This room is only used when either he doesn't like his guest or his guest is uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed as him (Tristin likes to cuddle with anyone in his bed or house as he has to have skin to skin contact often, from a simple touch of the hand to, well cuddling because it comforts him).
- FOLLOWERS I. He currently has four followers that he's content to keep. They were all promised things in exchange for them following him.
There's Silvester (Si-Si); an 18 year-old German intern at his shop that trains underneath Tristin. He also aspires to become an amazing tattoo artist and open his own shop. Silvester was promised amazing talent in body art.
Abol (Aby); a young Greek boy at the age of 15 who lives a couple blocks away from the cemetery. Abol was promised to wonderful adventures. He's Tristin's least favorite only because he's so young and very childish but, that's why he loves and chose him.
Sam (Sammy! ♥); a 20 year-old German magi tattooist that works at 'The Shadow's Workshop.' Sam was promised wealth and happiness because he doesn't like using magic when he can help it, unless it benefits someone besides himself. He's Tristin's favorite and is actually the one who routinely checks on and renews the charms and spells on Tristin's sanctum which actually take centuries to wear off (He would rather be safe than sorry).
Urson (Ur-Ur); a 20 year-old Slavic mortician who works at the cemetery where Tristin lives and provides him with electricity and the last of the followers. Urson was promised a rewarding life. Every follower has unrestricted access to the sanctum; although they need to inform Tristin ahead of time if they're bringing a guest.
- CONNECTIONS I. Due to owning and working at 'The Shadow's Workshop' the demon has a few connections due to helping out people in exchange for favors that he eventually calls when he wants something done for him. Usually it's to retrieve the occasional trinket he wants when he's too lazy himself to bother stealing it.
- LIBRARY I. Tristin's bookshelf in his room is filled with books on the necessary knowledge to survive in this New York. A city of monsters and mischief.
